In 1991, the NorthWood Scholarship Foundation brought together community members, businesses, local service clubs and churches which all caught the vision of providing scholarship funds for seniors at NorthWood High School. Today the money for these scholarships has been raised in various ways. Some of the funds have been donated in memory of loved ones who have died. Some graduating classes have donated money at their 10 or 20 year reunions with the hope of making college education a reality for all NorthWood students. Service clubs of both Nappanee and Wakarusa raise money all year and are responsible for funding many of the scholarships. The previous Phone-A-Thons were responsible for raising over $40,000 each of the past three years.
